Job Overview: The highly skilled, and accomplished, care team at Trinitas Regional Medical Center offers extensive experience in prostate, breast, lung, colorectal, head & neck, ovarian, liver and pancreatic cancers, multiple myeloma, leukemia, hematological disorders, and brain tumors. Our medical oncologists and hematologists meet with patients and their families to determine an individualized treatment plan that is optimal for each patient. As a part of our cancer treatment support system, our inpatient Oncology team is a 23-bed unit supporting a wide variety of Medical/Surgical and diagnostic services to the same diverse population of patients and their families affected by cancer diagnosis. Our Registered Nurses, an integral part of our patient care and clinical team, provide emotional and clinical support to our patients and their families.

Scheduling Requirements

  • Night Shift, 36 Hours per week
  • Monday Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation

Qualifications

  • Active New Jersey RN License or approved RN license required
  • ASN or BSN required
  • AHA BLS prior to start date required
  • Oncology, Med Surg, Telemetry, and/or acute nursing experience is preferred
  • Oncology certifications and/or national nursing certifications desired

Essential Functions: The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports the philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
