NJSAOHN – State of the Union – We’re back!

Posted 11 months ago by Karen Brooks

As the current President of the NJSAOHN Chapter I welcome this new chapter in our lives, namely, we survived a Pandemic!

The past three years have been a period that saw many people not survive Covid 19, we lost many (family members, loved ones, coworkers, and more), we saw many Healthcare workers leave the profession (sadly), we saw an extreme rise in mental health issues, with isolation taking a role in that. Children heavily impacted by this new norm. Mental Health emergencies have risen and additional emergent mental health counselors and psychiatrists have been recruited at all Healthcare Networks around the country.

After three years of effective lockdown, we are now ‘living’ with Covid. A Pandemic is now an Epidemic (the virus is still with us), but since vaccinations, we are now able to move forward and regain our lives once more. Covid illnesses are more survivable or less debilitating.

With that, the Board is pleased to be able to bring back the ‘in-person’ one-day CEU Conference.

Friday, September 22nd, 8 am – 4 pm $25 per person, with the proceeds being donated to a charity of choice. Location: The Conference Center at Mercer County Community College (arrive at 07:30 am for light breakfast)

Cost: $25.00 (All proceeds to be donated to a local charity)

The focus of the topics will be around surviving Covid, and we will send out a list of speakers/topics once this has been finalized (coming soon). Registration details to follow.

Please join us for a great day, back together for great topics, discussion, and support

I do hope you will join us on September 22nd, we have missed you.

Sincerely

Karen,

Steve, Pat, Mary & Billeny
